Ukraine and North Macedonia will face each other on 17 June at the National Arena Stadium. The host city this time will be Bucharest, in Romania. This will be their third duel as they played two times on the qualifying for the Euro 2016. On both occasions, Ukraine won the games, by 1-0 and 0-2 respectively.
Ukraine
Ukraine squad is coming from a defeat against the Netherlands. It was hard to digest they scored two times in less than 5 minutes to draw the actions by the end of the game. However, the team couldn’t resist the new approaches from the Netherlands and conceded a goal in the 85th minute to lose by 3-2. Apart from the loss, we were able to see how effective they are. Even when they didn’t have too much ball possession, Ukraine shot 7 times and 5 of them ended on target (two of them as goals). North Macedonia
North Macedonia, on the other hand, told us a different story. They mostly played with counterattacks against Austria and only half of them can be called effective. Still, they defended well and kept the 1-1 until the last minutes. The changes didn’t work as expected and North Macedonia allowed two goals in the 78th and 85th minute, losing by a total score of 3-1. Honestly, people were expecting a bad performance from them and the team played quite decent in the long term. Sadly, they couldn’t hold the result in the final part and now they will have to risk more against Ukraine.
Prediction
Ukraine’s victory sounds like a good deal, with not too much risk for bettors and a decent odds of 1.66. However, and taking into account the risks that both teams will need to take this time, and over 2.5 goals @1.85 is a much better choice for this duel.
