History at UEFA Euro

UEFA European Championship 2021 marks the first participation ever for North Macedonia since its independence. In the past, they participated as member of Yugoslavia team. They first participated for Euro tournament in the Qualifiers round for Euro 1996, being this, the first time they took part in a major tournament; however, they failed to qualify. And the history repeated for Euro 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016 qualifier rounds. After their great participation in UEFA Nations League, they achieved their first competitive playoffs which, in the end, led them to Group C of Euro 2021.

Enis Bardhi:

Attacking midfielder for Spanish team Levante, Enis Bardhi is just 25 years old and has become a differential player, who stands out for his dribbling skills and his powerful shot. The Macedonian is a specialist from direct free kick. He gathers 31 participations with the senior team and has scored 5 goals since his debut in March 2015. Bardhi is a great promise for Macedonian football and is expected to help the team advance in its very first Euro participation.

Goran Pandev:

Pandev is the veteran and captain of North Macedonia football team. He plays as forward in Genoa (Italy) and, so far, gathers 114 participations and 36 goals with the national team since his debut in 2001. He is the responsible of this historic participation in European Championship, by being the scorer of the only goal that led North Macedonia win over Georgia in the playoffs. Despite being 37, he brings great strength to the team and he certainly deserves this spot more than anyone.

Ilija Nestorovski:

Another figure of authority, Ilija is a forward in both North Macedonian team and Udinese (Italy) where he also acts as captain. He debuted in the senior squad in 2016 during the Euro 2016 Qualifying and has gathered 37 participation with 9 goals scored up to now. His experience alongside the youngsters of the team make North Macedonia dream with a great performance and a fresh look.
