History at UEFA Euro

The champions of UEFA Euro 1992, Denmark, are one of the frequenters of this competition. De rød-hvide (The Red and White) have managed to qualify to 9 out of 16 Euro tournaments up to this date. Their biggest success, of course, came when they defeated Germany with goals to nil to be crowned the champions of Europe in Euro 1992 in Sweden. Their second biggest success came at Euro 1984, where they had gone as far as to the Semi-Finals. Although Denmark have failed to ascend to this level again, they had seen the Quarter-Finals in Euro 2004 in Portugal. After failing to show their presence in Euro 2016, they will be back at the venue where they belong to reminisce us the glory days of the Red and White.

Christian Eriksen:

After a successful journey in Premier League, Eriksen made his move to Italy to display his talents in Serie A in 2020. Playing for Inter Milan at the moment, Eriksen is easily one of the best attacking-midfielders in the world. He will be a crucial piece of Denmark’s offensive end in this tournament with his creative playstyle. Although he is only 28 years old, he has played 100 games for his country and scored 34 goals.

Yussuf Poulsen:

The 26-year-old striker is currently playing for Leipzig in Bundesliga. Although he has not been prolific in the 19/20 season, Poulsen is still believed to have so much in his bag to offer. Paired with Kasper Dolberg, Poulsen is a fundamental part of this team’s offense. Should this team qualify for the next round, Poulsen will need to step up and assume responsibility. So far, he has been capped 48 times having scored 7 goals for his country.

Andreas Christensen:

Another high-profile name of Denmark’s squad is Andreas Christensen who plays for Chelsea at the moment. Although he might not be the first option in the defense at Chelsea, Christensen plays a crucial role as a center-defender for Denmark. He still has plenty to learn from Kjaer, the captain of the team, but we believe that he will the one to watch in this tournament. Although he is only 24 years old, he has played 35 games for his country and scored one goal.
