History at UEFA Euro

In 1964, being their first time to qualify for the UEFA European Championship, La Roja became champions at home. This was the second edition of this championship and one of their most memorable victories. Spain succeeded in getting qualified in 10 out of 16 championships, with this current championship counting as their 11th participation.

Out of these 10 participations, they won 3 titles so far, the first was against Soviet Union. The second was against Germany in 2008 in Austria. This second victory came as a breakthrough after more than 40 years since their first victory. And this victory can be attributed to Torres, who scored the only goal in that match. This victory was a great boost to them and the following edition of the UEFA Euro Championship, they won their 3rd title against Italy in 2012 in Ukraine. It was their biggest success as they won 4 goals to nil. Having gone as far as the round of 16 of the Knockout phase last edition, they will be back this time to make their star shine as in the good old times.

His presence will undoubtedly be vital for the Spanish team.

David de Gea:

This 29 year-old goalkeeper is reputed for his skills in the Premier League Manchester United club. He is known as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He started his football career at Atletico Madrid where he won the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup with the team. Thereafter he joined Manchester United in 2011, here he won the Premier League title and the UEFA Europa League with the team. The successor to Iker Casillas, he is certainly a key player for the national team.

Rodrigo Moreno:

Playing as a winger and striker for Leeds United since 2020 and the Spanish national team, this 29 year-old attacker has so much to offer. Moreno started his career as a reserve player for Real Madrid, then he signed with Benfica in 2010 with whom he won four titles. Later on, he moved to Valencia, where he made six years and on his records, he counts 59 goals in 220 games and won the Copa del Rey title in 2019. He counts a total of 111 goals in his career and 384 appearances overall. In general terms, he is a key striker with experience for this team and makes a great duo with Ansu Fati.
