Why the Euro 2020 will be played in 2021?
After the pandemic of COVID-19 made a huge impact on the population – not only in Europe but worldwide – the event had to be delayed and now it will take place one year later. The complete schedule divided into groups and the future stages are available in our Euro 2020 Fixture section.
Where is the tournament going to be hosted?
From the beginning, 12 countries would host the Euro 2020 during the whole schedule. After the pandemic and some political problems in Asia, some cities were in doubt. However, the future is promising and we expect to watch the tournament at least in 11 different cities. For example, Bilbao (Portugal) won’t be able to host games, so Seville (Spain) will substitute this location, while Dublin’s (Ireland) replacement will be Saint Petersburg (Russia).

Will we see fans in the stadiums?
After the vaccination process started due to the COVID-19 virus, the president of UEFA, Aleksander Čeferin, stated that fans will attend to Euro 2020 games. For the Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti, Čeferin said that “We have several scenarios, but the one guarantee we can make is that the option of playing any Euro 2020 match in an empty stadium is off the table”. The plans intend to sell tickets starting at 25% of the stadium’s capacity, but each city organization will vary. With this minimum percentage confirmed, we expect no less than 10,000 spectators at each game, while in Budapest we could even see a full stadium with over 65,000 fans!
