History at UEFA Euro

The 16th edition of the UEFA European Championship marks the 3rd participation of Ukraine team as an independent nation. It would be the 9th actually, while being part of the Soviet Union and the CIS. Indeed, since the independence, Ukraine hasn’t been successful at all in Euro competitions; in the last 2 occasions (Euro 2012 and Euro 2016) they failed to pass the group stage. It’s also worth noting that they hosted the tournament once alongside Poland in Euro 2012. Currently, Ukranian team is known to be very powerful in their more youthful level, while the senior team hasn’t been able to get many achievements.

Andriy Pyatov:

Debuted with the international team in 2007, collecting 96 appearances up-to-date. Pyatov helds the record of more minutes without a goal for the national team. The 36-years-old player is the goalkeeper also for Shakhtar Donetsk since 2007 as well, appearing in 287 matches. We can consider him a key player in this new era of Ukraine national team due to his long experience with the squad.

Roman Yaremchuk:

Yeremchuk is one of the star strikers for Ukranian team and is another young player bringing freshness and voracity to the squad. The 24-years-old striker plays at Gent in the Belgian league and debuted in the senior national team in 2018. So far, he has 14 appearances and has managed to score 5 times.
