History at UEFA Euro

Slovakia is a demonstration of perseverance. With a history yet to be written, this national team had to struggle to get its ticket to Euro. The previous coach was replaced by Štefan Tarkovič. What’s the record of the new coach with the team? One game won, which is enough to put them into this tournament for the second consecutive time. Also, up to 9 members of the team tested positive during this final stage, but they still got the ticket to a new Euro. As mentioned before, they participated in the Euro 2016, but also in the South Africa World Cup, reaching the group of 16 in both occasions. The objective now is to reach this group for the third time but succeeding at it.

Milan Skriniar:

This player is one of the pillars of the Italian club Inter Milan. He plays as centre-back, but he has also played as defensive midfielder with success. His skills in one-vs-one situations and capacity to tackle were fundamental for the national team qualification to this next Euro. There are rumours of a future transfer from Inter Milan to other great teams such as Liverpool, Tottenham and Barcelona, so Skriniar is certainly a safe in Slovakia’s defensive line.

Ondrej Duda:

Duda is a great attacker in the middle field and has helped the national team to find a new course in the last decade. He has also played for league teams such as Legia Warsaw, Hertha Berlin, Norwich City, and most recently he signed a 4-year contract with the German Bundesliga team FC Köln.

Patrik Hrošovský:

The midlefield of the Slovakia national team has been crucial for its Euro qualifying and we can’t skip Hrošovský. He has been with the team since 2014 and his experience plays an important role in the group, as he usually covers each part of the field. During his football career, he has also played for league teams such as Viktoria Plzeñ and Genk.
