After being postponed a year ago, Euro 2020 will kick off on June 11 in Rome that is one of 12 host cities across Europe.
UEFA ended the restriction of the public in stadiums that it had imposed during its competitions due to the coronavirus pandemic. This with an eye to having the largest possible number of spectators in this year’s Eurocup matches.
UEFA reported that the 30% capacity limit for stadium attendance set in October is no longer necessary. The local authorities will have the last word.
“The decision on the number of spectators allowed should be the sole responsibility of the competent local/national authorities,” UEFA said in a statement.
The fixture calendar is already prepared so it is official that you will be able to experience each game of your favorite teams.
What health and safety measures will be in the stadiums?
The official EURO site explains that its priority is a safe event for everyone. That’s why some new rules have been implemented:
- Each ticket holder will be assigned a 30-minute entry time to reach the stadium.
- The public must wear a mask all the time.
- COVID-19 rapid tests or temperature controls will be implemented. But each stage will be different.
How many spectators will UEFA EURO 2020 hold?
- Saint Petersburg and Baku have confirmed 50% capacity.
- Budapest wants to allow 100% capacity. To enter their stadium they will be specific requirements.
- Amsterdam, Bucharest, Copenhagen, Glasgow, Rome, and Sevilla will have between 25% and 33% capacity.
- London has confirmed a minimum capacity of 25% for the first three games of the group stage and the round of 16.
- Munich intends to host a minimum of 14,500 spectators. This corresponds to approximately 22% of the stadium’s capacity.
